“Music is exciting. It is thrilling to be sitting in a group of musicians playing (more or less) the same piece of music. You are part of a great, powerful, vibrant entity. And nothing beats the feeling you get when you've practiced a difficult section over and over and finally get it right. (yes, even on the wood block.) Music is important. It says things your heart can't say any other way, and in a language everyone speaks. Music crosses borders, turns smiles into frowns, and vice versa. These observations are shared with a hope: that, when schools cut back on music classes, they really think about what they're doing - and don't take music for granted."

- The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Band is made up of over 260 students in grades 6-8. We are located in Trussville, Alabama. The band is under the direction of Mr. Brandon Peters, Mrs. Stephanie Ezell, and Mr. Scott Waid.

Good job everybody. Symphonic band really needs to fix Spirit of an Eagle and work on tone of Pueblo.
Both bands did great! I hope we can do as well (or maybe even better) on Wednesday.

I think the Concert Band did really good
I loved "The Spirit of The Eagle".
The symphonic band sounded wonderful! They were better than beginning band at least. You could actualy hear the flutes! I could also hear the ONE oboe(oboes rule!)better than the flutes. You need more oboes!!Great job!

I really liked how the bands sounded together. It was great.

The symphonic band sounded really good. I wish I could play that well! They sound a lot better than beginning band does, but we should get better.
