Check out this clip from The Discovery Channel's How It's Made about the making of a trumpet. Please leave a comment after you watch the video. Did you ever think this much work went into making an instrument?
That is so cool! I can't believe the ice didn't shatter when it was bent even though it had soap in it(which I don't get how it helps at all). I didn't realize it took that many steps ,or that long to make a trumpet.
WOW!! with all that bending and scraping.......Anything and every thing that is shown beying done to the trumpet including that first part. It made, No it was a long flattened piece of junk. When they finished .......it was incredible!!!!!!
I think it's simply amazing how you can take scrap sheets of brass, and turn it into a shiny, high quality instrument such as a trumpet in just those steps. It looks like it would be a fun experience to try and make one yourself and see how it turns out. Frank B. - 7th Period
Hey wuts up its Sal Mr. P i thought that it wuz easy to make a trumpet but it shure does take a while i liked the part when the got the brass and made it into a cone shape.

“Music is exciting. It is thrilling to be sitting in a group of musicians playing (more or less) the same piece of music. You are part of a great, powerful, vibrant entity. And nothing beats the feeling you get when you've practiced a difficult section over and over and finally get it right. (yes, even on the wood block.) Music is important. It says things your heart can't say any other way, and in a language everyone speaks. Music crosses borders, turns smiles into frowns, and vice versa. These observations are shared with a hope: that, when schools cut back on music classes, they really think about what they're doing - and don't take music for granted."
The Hewitt-Trussville Middle School Band is made up of over 260 students in grades 6-8. We are located in Trussville, Alabama. The band is under the direction of Mr. Brandon Peters, Mrs. Stephanie Ezell, and Mr. Scott Waid.

That was boring and interesting at the same time. Band and science should never mix.

I think the hardest part of making a trumpet would be when you fold the sheet of brass straight down the middle.
That was boring and interesting at the same time. I can't believe that is what my trumpet looked like before I got it.
